Alligator Hunting in the Atchafalaya Swamp

Here’s a great video of a huge (almost 12 feet) male gator being harvested in the Atchafalaya Swamp during 2016. This gator was not hooked on a baited line; instead, he was grappled with a free hook after a game of cat-and-mouse that lasted twenty minutes. As soon as he was grappled, he dove to the bottom of the canal and under a submerged log. When the video opens, the guides are trying to pull the gator back from under the log and to the surface. Near Catahoula, Louisiana.
